This is a simple but amazing way to enjoy fish. You may use any white fish fillet you like, but the fresher the better of course. The bokchoy can be replaced with a number of vegetables like napa cabbage, cabbage, green beans as well. I have to insist on using the XO Sauce though. That really gives this dish the flavor I really love.

Ingredients (serves 4)

4 Lapu Lapu Fillets, about 150 g each
8 stalks of bokchoy, sliced in halves
3 tbsps XO Sauce
3 tbsps soy sauce
3 tsps of sesame oil
salt and pepper to taste


  1. In one section of the steamer, line up the bokchoy. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. In another section of the steamer, place the Lapu Lapu fillets on top. Spoon the XO sauce over the fish fillets.
  3. Steam the bokchoy for 5 minutes, the fish for 10.
  4. Once cooked, place the bokchoy on the serving plate. Top with the fish fillets. Spoon the soy sauce and the sesame oil over the fish fillets.
