Sometimes, you don’t have as many fresh ingredients as you like, but as long as you have pantry staples like honey and soy sauce, all you need is some fish or even meat, and you’ve got a quick recipe that’ll please everyone in the family.

Ingredients (serves 4)

1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 tbsps Chinese black vinegar (or use balsamic)
2 tsps chili powder
2 cloves garlic, minced
500 g salmon fillet, cut into cubes
300 g brocolli, cut into little florets
salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the first 5 ingredients. Mix well.
  2. In a pan, stiry fry the salmon cubes in the oil until half cooked, about 2 minutes.
  3. Pour in the sauce and cook for another 2 minutes, mixing regularly.
  4. Serve with rice and vegetables.
