IMG_6134Who: The restaurant, which started as a food stall in Legaspi Market, is run by two ladies, Ms. Louh Decena and Tess Doctora. They are friends and mothers who stayed in Indonesia for quite some time, picking up the local cuisine.

What: Indonesian Restaurant with classic fare.

When: Open for Lunch 11 am to 2 pm and Dinner 6 pm to 9 pm

Where: 83 East Capitol Drive, Pasig City. Parking slots available within the restaurant lot and along East Capitol Drive.

How: Service is solid. Servers know enough of the dishes to make recommendations and they are attentive and friendly.

Most interesting dishes I liked:

IMG_6144   Satay Ayam
– Chicken is grilled perfectly and is complemented well by a flavorful peanut sauce. You can’t get any better than that.

Murtabak – They have two versions, savory (Telur) and sweet (Manis). You should order all kinds. The savory one is stuffed with egg and vegetables and it has a beautiful crunchy
exterior. The sweet ones are the real gems. The plain one is thin, with crisp sides and a buttery flavor. The stuffed one has chocolate on one side and cheese on the other. This time, it’s chewy delicious with a perfect amount of sweet and very slightly salty balance. (I haven’t been able to confirm the rumor that the murtabak are only available for dinner.)

Bakmi Goreng – Their version of the Stir Fried Noodles is the real MVP. Holy cow. Very flavorful, not too oily, with chicken and fried egg on top. I am not a pancit guy, but I have days where I dream of eating this. Dreams, people.

Why: The service is nice and the food is absolutely delicious. Dishes are simple with straight forward flavors, and each bring a certain comfort when I eat them. The ambience reminds me of an Indonesian home and the food perfectly encapsulates the same homey feeling. I will definitely be back several times.

Deets: I visited the place 2 times with friends, both times I paid for. On the second visit, I was introduced to the owners who turned out to be a family friend of one of my friends.
