Bacon lover, bubbly host, and passionate cook – these are all things that would describe Chef Sharwin Tee. To shake things up, we sat down with the host of Curiosity Got the Chef (CGTC) to find out seven things most people don’t know about him.

7. Lost Voice

In one of the episodes, you’ll notice that Chef Sharwin’s voice is hoarse. He strained his vocal chords after attempting to sing Adam Levine’s Lost Stars. “I sang the high part and coughed, then I lost my voice right after.”

6. Feed the mind

Food isn’t the only nourishment for the CGTC host; he also loves to read. His favorite book of all time is “Catcher in the Rye.” In terms of food-related literature, his top pick is The Last Chinese Chef.

5. Chef’s Cinematic Favorites

His favorite movie is American President, while his favorite food-themed movie is Spanglish.

4. Curiosity Got the Commentator?

We’re all familiar with Chef Sharwin as a wiz in the kitchen, but we bet you didn’t know that he wanted to be a sports commentator before becoming a chef. He loved to write about sports and even kept a blog at http://www.50pesosseats.blogspot.com (“It’s up and running again; I wrote a recent entry!”)

3. Not everything is about bacon

Contrary to what most people think, Chef Sharwin doesn’t eat bacon every day (cue gasps and shocked expressions). But he assures us that if there were one food he could eat forever, it would definitely be bacon. “The first thing I ever cooked as a kid was bacon-wrapped cheese,” he said proudly.

2. What he hates most about cooking

“Washing the dishes!”

1. 17-year Paramour

He’s had a crush on Bea Alonzo for a solid seventeen years. “I’m nearing my 20-year deadline to meet her,” he says with his trademark grin. Is this the making of a new celebrity tandem? (Ms. Bea, If you’re reading this, drop us a line!)
